At an 8 AM Cleveland Brown staff meeting, Daron K. Roberts and a room full of coaches were all told, “You’re fired. Good luck with everything.”

After 7 years of coaching football at the college and NFL level, Daron would be first to say that he wishes he would have done things a little differently.

You see, it wasn’t until AFTER being fired and reading Dr. Brene Brown’s “Daring Greatly” that he realized what had been missing from not only his coaching style but his own life...viewing vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness and the importance of leading with empathy.

But Daron is no stranger to shifting gears and being resilient after failure. (After all, he was waitlisted 4 times before being accepted into Harvard Law School.) As a father of 5, his family helped him realize that he could have a greater impact focusing on future leaders rather than returning to a demanding NFL coaching career. So, he returned to his alma mater and founded the Center for Sports Leadership & Innovation at the University of Texas. Now he teaches high school, college, and professional athletes how to build strong leadership skills by using important foundational principles like empathy.

Daron is not alone in the belief that one of the best ways to make a lasting impact is done by instilling important values into our future leaders. We also believe that it’s never too early to tackle important topics with our kids, like how to find the courage to walk in someone else's shoes and see the world from their perspective. Join us in our mission to help build a more emotionally healthy future for our children and get them A Kids Book About EMPATHY today ==> https://akidsbookabout.com/collections/all-products/products/a-kids-book-about-empathy
