History
TSU was originally organized as the Agricultural and Industrial State Normal School in 1909 and began serving students on June 19, 1912. Its status was raised to a four-year teachers' college in 1922, and two years later it was renamed the Agricultural and Industrial State Normal College. It was elevated to university status in 1951, renamed the Tennessee Agricultural and Industrial Univer

During TSU’s inaugural Impact Awards Recognition Event, 10 faculty and staff members were honored for their excellence, leadership, and commitment to enhancing the university experience. 🐅
Recipients received medallions and leadership awards recognizing their dedication and remarkable impact on the community. Honorees were also recognized during this month’s Board of Trustees meeting.

A major milestone for the Tennessee State University College of Agriculture. 🏗️🚜
Last week’s topping out ceremony marked the placement of the final structural beam for the new academic and research facility on campus. 💙🐅 Faculty, staff and project partners signed the final beam before it was placed atop the building, commemorating the nearly $95 million project that will expand opportunities for research, innovation and hands-on learning at TSU.
