The Covenant School Shepherding Hearts, Empowering Minds, Celebrating Childhood

PreSchool 3's - 6th Grade

At The Covenant School, we are about more than simply educating our students; we are participating in the miracle of their development—of seeing children transform into who they will be. Best teaching methods and programs, daily all-school chapel, and school-wide service-learning become the strong backdrop for the real work of helping children become who God intends them to be. As we capture our c

hildren’s attention and their minds for learning, we also want to capture their hearts in relationships that challenge their thinking and create experiences for them to learn the skills that will be so critical in moving forward. Our graduates attend the finest schools in the Nashville area, where they not only excel academically but also show themselves to be young people with the character that comes from authentic faith in Jesus. Discover how we nurture the magic of childhood while knowing, loving, and preparing each student.

Our 1st and 2nd graders traded the classroom for the gallery last week at the Frist Art Museum! ✏️🎨

They spent the morning exploring International Surrealism from Tate: Fifty Years of Dreams, a collection of roughly 125 paintings, photographs, and sculptures on loan from the Tate in the UK, featuring artists like Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Joan Miró, and Dorothea Tanning. Our Knights got an up close look at how these artists turned dreams, imagination, and the unexpected into art.

After taking it all in, they headed to Martin ArtQuest to make their own surrealist creations, painting, sketching, and building collages inspired by what they’d just seen.

Thank you to Frist Art Museum for hosting our students and bringing surrealism to life for our young learners!

We don’t have family nearby. She’s an only child. So when we chose a school, this mattered more than anything: we wanted her to be known.

Ask her about her day and it’s never long before she brings up her buddy Caroline. Just being with her lights up her whole world.

At church, there’s a sixth grader who gives her a high five every single Sunday. She’s four. He’s twelve. And he still remembers her.

Last week they were at Shake Shack and an older student walked in with her dad. Before we could say anything, she lit up. “That’s Claire.” They sat down and played foosball together like it was nothing.

That’s not something you can manufacture. That’s what happens at a school small enough to actually know every child, at every age.

Come see it for yourself. Schedule a tour, link in bio.

Our 6th graders rocked Chapel in full rock star style and led the whole school in celebrating birthdays and lost teeth. Fun Friday happens every week with a brand new theme, and our Ignite students always make their grand entrance with the legendary “1, 2, 3, Mrs. Dupree!”

This week: rock stars. Next week: who knows! 🤘

Known. Loved. Prepared.

Paper, pencils, and tape. That’s all it took for our Ignite students to design and build a bridge strong enough to hold two soup cans. Along the way, they tested, adjusted, and problem solved their way to a working structure, learning that real engineering starts with real trial and error. This is what hands-on learning looks like in Ignite science class. TheCovenantSchool

Mission accomplished! 🕵️‍♂️ Our 5th graders went undercover for the 2nd Fun Friday of the year, sneaking into Chapel from every direction for a dramatic Spy Fun Friday entrance. Agents of all ages celebrated birthdays and wiggly lost teeth along the way. Covenant Knights, the case is closed... this was one seriously fun mission.

The first days are here, and they did not disappoint.

From climbing the playground ropes to trying on new glasses (and new roles as knights and police officers), our Knights jumped into the 2026-2027 school year with big smiles and even bigger energy. Twenty-five years in, and this community still feels like the best place to start something new.

Welcome back, Knights. We’re so glad you’re here.

The first Chapel of the year always reminds us why we do this. Students, teachers, parents, and staff gathered in one room, one voice, one purpose, worshipping together. This is the heart of who we are. Welcome back, Knights.

To every mom dropping off a baby who somehow isn’t a baby anymore, this one’s for you. Swipe through before you head out the door this week.

Your child is ready. You’re the one who did that. And no matter what happens once they walk through our doors, you’re still the one they’ll run back to.

We’re honored to walk this season with you.

One by one, grade by grade, they walked through those doors and into a whole new year, cheered on every step by the parents who love them most. That’s Orientation Day at Covenant. Parade
