The more I reread the gospel, the more I find in the nuances of Jesus’s wording. There is so much packed into this parable than what I had originally learned, but the third example is what caught my attention today.

At the end of Luke 8:15 Jesus says that those who hear the word with a noble and good heart keep and bear fruit with patience.

I think so often we can begin our journey of studying scripture and reading about the Bible stories and get frustrated. Because it doesnmt make snese right away or we have questions, we end up putting it down and giving up for lack of understanding.

But in this context, Jesus is saying with patience, meaning with time and persistence, you’ll begin to bear the fruit of your study.

So if you’ve given up on reading the Bible or understanding the word of God, I encourage you to continue the journey by inviting the holy spirit into your reading and trusting him to reveal and produce fruit over time.
