The policy of blocking science and not giving scientists a way to track patterns of illness is not pro life. Cruelty is a feature with this administration. Not a one off. Watch what they do not the lies of pretending to be Christian during the campaign.

As February draws to a close I am reminded of GK Chesterton - when he was asked, “What’s wrong with the world?” He answered, “I am.” I hope these 28 poems have opened up new places in all of us. I have loved digging them out as I recover from surgery. I am hoping to build an email list of anyone that finds benefit from my work Creative Lectio. If you would like a pdf of the February collection—there are two steps 1) if you are on FB Join the FB page and 2) you can send me your e-mail addy in a note to [email protected].

Let this poem soak inside you this morning. I am using it to pray for anyone on the globe reading the news. We may have been dormant (or in a non-descript place) during the trauma of Covid-- but in secret we were developing strong roots, getting new hues of gratitude for first responders, even ripening in ways that only suffering can ripen a soul. Today, pray for the people that know right from wrong to show up and for us not to miss them like a melon we leave hidden under heavy foliage. Find the good, it is ripe now. Be the person you needed when you were a child. Thank someone anywhere that dares to heal the land.

we are not powerless as long as we see the image of God stamped on every human. Then our hateful rhetoric (verbs are bullets) can fall silent so we can hear where our enemy cries. As Linda Pastan says, “The grammar of pain has exploded.” this is happening while the world has no reserves in the wake of the pandemic exploding. The language of war could turn back if we cared ( at minimum) today by following the Golden Rule.

In February in honor of St. Valentines- we cherish the secure attachments. And maybe we ask this poem in March or April if we need to step back from co-dependency.

Recently I was sharing poems for contemplation about our hands & feet. These are our first points of contact with others and with solid forms. We overlook their value. The same is true for the fragile wings of birds. Write an ode to your hands today. What is their unique glory?

Today we can unite with a prayer that hope and history rhyme. Will you believe in cures and healing wells?
