I know this one works as a fact because as I've been making and improving this pick speed thing, I've improved my own speed and accuracy! The hard part is finding that consistent 5 minutes a day, and to do that, try to remove as many friction points as possible – no amp, no pedals... an unplugged acoustic or electric will work just fine!
