Empowering African American youth to improve their dietary and physical activity behaviors and practices.

The YAMS program is designed for African American children living in Davidson County ages 8 – 14 whom are at risk for adult obesity. Participating youth will learn and engage in culturally-relevant activities that promote:

-Critical Thinking Skills
-Self-Esteem
-Healthful Decision Making
-Healthy Meal and Snack Preparation
-Physical Activities

YAMS aims to equip disadvantaged youth with the knowledge and awareness to make better health and wellness choices.
