Vanderbilt University is conducting a research study for people between the ages of 8‐20, who have reading difficulties, either with or without Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Potential participants will be called to answer some questions to see if they may meet some general criteria. If they do, questionnaires will be mailed to them. After they complete the required paperwork and send their NF1 diagnosis from their doctor, if applicable, they will come for to Vanderbilt for tests. Vanderbilt is also offering travel reimbursement for families outside the middle Tennessee area, should you have anyone traveling from out of state who still wishes to participate in the study. Does your 8-20 year-old child have Neurofibromatosis Type 1? We are looking for participants ages 8-20 who are diagnosed with NF1 and have reading difficulties. This research study seeks to learn more about how children and adolescents learn to become good readers. We are very interested in the best ways to teach people to read! This study includes 3 visits of testing, intensive reading intervention and MRI scans. Compensation totals $1,050! See flyer below for more details.

We are looking for children and adolescents 8-20 years old who have NF-1 and who struggle with reading. Study involvement includes three visits to Vanderbilt over 6 months, a possible study medication, and intensive one-on-one tutoring. Receive up to
