Saint Henry School is a Catholic Elementary School in the Diocese of Nashville located in West Meade, a suburb in West Nashville, between Belle Meade and Bellevue. Saint Henry School (SHS) provides academic excellence to over 680 children from pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. Saint Henry School is staffed by the Dominican Sisters of the Saint Cecilia Congregation of Nashville and numerous lay teachers.

It was an extra special week for our Kindergarteners! 💛🐯

For the very first time, they attended All School Mass with their 8th Grade Buddies by their side. ⛪️

One of the sweetest traditions at Saint Henry is our Kindergarten & 8th Grade Buddy program. Throughout the year, our youngest Tigers get to attend All School Mass and share special moments with our oldest students, forming a bond that is truly special to watch. Our Kindergarteners look up to their 8th Grade Buddies, and we love seeing the kindness, patience, and joy our 8th graders show their little buddies in return.

There was something especially meaningful about watching them attend Mass together for the first time; little hands in big hands walking into church and praying side by side.

These are the traditions and relationships that make Saint Henry School such a special place. 🐯💛🖤

What a special visit! 💛 Yesterday, we were blessed to welcome Dominican Sisters visiting from Hungary to Saint Henry School.

It was such a joy to welcome them to our campus and share some of the many special things happening at Saint Henry School. During their visit, the Sisters spent time in several of our classrooms and received an overview of our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program from Sr. Aimee Marie, an important part of the faith formation experience for our PreK and 2nd Grade students.

Their visit was a beautiful reminder that our Dominican family extends far beyond our own school community, connecting us through a shared faith and mission around the world. ✝️🌎

We are so grateful they spent time with us and hope they felt a very warm Saint Henry welcome! 🐯💛

💡 Did you know? Our PreK teachers spent part of their summer investing in their own learning so they can provide the very best for our youngest students!

This summer, our PreK team attended "PreK Rocks", a three-day professional development conference featuring sessions on social-emotional growth, math, science, and literacy. They returned with fresh ideas, new strategies, and plenty of inspiration to bring into their classrooms this school year.

At Saint Henry School, we believe great teachers never stop learning. We are grateful for educators who are dedicated to growing in their profession and creating engaging, nurturing classrooms where our youngest Tigers can thrive. Go Tigers! 💛🖤🐯

💛🐯 Tiger Town was full of smiles, excitement, and so much joy this morning as we welcomed our students back for the first day of school!

From excited hellos and happy reunions to hugs from teachers and friends, it was so good to see everyone back together again.

We are so happy to have our halls filled with our students and can’t wait for all that the 2026–2027 school year has in store. Here’s to a wonderful year ahead! ✏️📚💛
