As a teenager, Kimberly was diagnosed with anxiety and experienced frequent panic attacks, making it difficult to feel safe at school or focus on academics. For years, she carried the regret of not earning her diploma and questioned whether she was capable of returning to finish her education.
Everything changed when her brother, Austin, encouraged her to look into the Begin Anew Program after finding success there himself. With support from her tutor, Tom, and the constant encouragement of her Program Manager, Shelley, she slowly built confidence in her abilities. Shelley’s guidance reassured her that she could move at her own pace and succeed despite her anxiety.
Her hard work ultimately paid off when she walked across the graduation stage, an experience made even more meaningful because she shared it with Austin. The moment symbolized not only earning her diploma but also overcoming years of doubt and uncertainty.
Today, she plans to attend esthetician school and pursue her professional license, carrying forward the confidence she gained through her educational journey. She now encourages others who may be uncertain about taking the same step, reminding them, “Take the leap of faith and believe in yourself.”
We are so proud of Kimberly!!
