šŸ¤“ I happily completed a Certificate in Neuroscience for Singing last month Voice Study Centre ! And I say happily because it was one of the best voice science courses Iā€™ve ever taken. Learning to sing is predicated on having fun and experimenting, which is where my heart has been for a very long time in my teaching practice. If we arenā€™t having fun, what are we doing???

šŸ„µtodayā€™s workout was not easy. And I didnā€™t want to finish it. But I kept saying over and over (in my head) WE GET TO workout. And itā€™s true, we get do a lot of things that are flat out amazing, even though the ego would have us believe otherwise.

It features string arrangements by Jeffrey Steinberg and strings by James Hollihan. Youā€™ll also hear a beautiful singing bowl in the mix! Lori Mechem is on the piano, of course, and the vocals are mine.

šŸ¤“ this is often the hard part: trusting that if you just keep showing up the small moments will yield big results. Iā€™ve seen it too many times. People who keep showing up for the (often) boring but necessary things required to live a healthy life get the best results.

āœØ Same goes for . Vocal exercises donā€™t always make a magical difference in the moment, but if done thoughtfully and consistently they can yield massive results.

šŸ„Sometimes you get to do things that check off a bucket list item. One of my mine has been to visit the and experience the Sound Journey (sound bath experience) with Nancy there. Robin and I made the trip to Memphis yesterday and felt genuinely welcomed and cared for through the hearts of Nancy and Jim (the owners of )

šŸ–¼ļø Now, these pictures will never convey the magic that happened yesterday. We were invited in to a circle of wise women full of love and grace! After the sound bath, we got to walk a local labyrinth with them and honor the winter solstice. How these things line up is a great and beautiful mystery!

šŸ’ŖšŸ» but what about little kids on those talents shows who sing like they are 45? We donā€™t know how many potential lifetimes they spent honing their craft either! No matter what you believe or donā€™t believe, the truth is we will never know what people have been through or what theyā€™ve done to sing the way they do.
