We recently received a generous donation made in loving memory of Mark Gormley of Brookline, Massachusetts.

Mark was a drummer. Anyone who knew him felt that energy — the way he made a room louder, warmer, and more alive. He was someone who made you laugh and left a lasting impression wherever he went.

In Brookline, a memorial bench now stands in Eliot Park, a place he loved — giving friends, family, and the community a space to sit and remember him.

This gift is more than a donation — it’s a reflection of love, legacy, and a life that continues to make an impact.
We are honored to carry his memory forward through the work we do. 🤍

This is how the music gets passed on. 👆

Over the past few months, we’ve been gathering in small group classes here in Nashville—fiddle, banjo, flatfooting—learning the music of
the way vernacular music has always been shared: person to person.

This work has been supported by a Tennessee Arts Commission grant—but in order to receive the full funding, we need to raise a dollar-for-dollar match from our community by May 11.

Every gift right now is doubled!!!!!

If you believe in keeping this music alive through teaching and community, we’d love your support! Link in bio to make a fully tax deductible contribution today. 🫶

This spring you’re gonna want to join the folks at the for an extra special presentation of their “Fundamentals of Country Songwriting” series, this time with at the helm.

Raised in West Virginia, Miller’s music is rooted in traditional Appalachian country and folk, but his songwriting carries a modern, introspective edge that has won him years of well earned praise for its deeply personal and literate style. Often compared the most respected voices in country music, Miller has built a reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter—an artist whose work resonates as much for its lyrical depth as for its stripped-down musical honesty.

Along with his two award winning recent solo releases, his song “Coming Down” was also recorded by —a true testament to the respect Miller commands in the songwriting world.

If you live in Nashville, chances are you’ve stayed up late a time or two to two step to and his killer band after nights.

Not only is Todd a master at delivering the classics, with an attention to stylistic detail that really sets him apart from the crowd, he’s also an innovative and thoughtful songwriter who manages to pull off cleverness and humor - which can be a death knell to a song in lesser hands.

We are super lucky to have snagged Todd for four weeks in March to offer his insight into songwriting and country music in general, for our next installment of the Fundamentals of Country Songwriting Series, Monday nights from 7-8:30 at .
