Warner Enhanced Option School teachers and leadership provide students a nurturing, safe environment

At Warner Arts Magnet Elementary School, we are intentional about developing the whole child—every single day. 💙🐾
This snapshot highlights one of our third grade classes during their visit to the Advocacy Center—an experience they participate in every two weeks to strengthen their social and emotional skills. In addition to these visits, the Advocacy Center is also a part of our kindergarten and first grade related arts rotation, ensuring our youngest learners are building these essential skills early and consistently.
With the support of the amazing Coach Johnston, students are learning how to manage emotions, build relationships, and grow as confident, self-aware learners.
It’s more than a moment—it’s a mindset. At Warner, we’re committed to supporting every child academically, socially, and emotionally—because that’s what it means to truly grow greatness. ✨
Flashback to one of our favorite moments as we geared up for TNReady! 🎉🐾
Our partnership with Stratford High School and the incredible Stratford Marching Legion Band is something special. Under the leadership of Mr. Latham, they consistently show up and show out for our students—and this pep rally was no exception! 🥁🎺
From high-energy performances by the band to our very own Cool Cat Sassy Cats Majorettes Club lighting up the floor, the energy was unmatched! Our students were all in—joining in on math review games, tug-of-war, and building excitement for a strong TNReady season.
Moments like this remind us that it truly takes a community to build confidence, joy, and excellence in our students. We’re grateful for partners who pour into our Cool Cats every step of the way! 💙✨

The arts are alive and thriving at Warner Arts Magnet! 🎭✨
Last night, the incredible cast of "Oz: The Meaning Behind the Magic," along with Executive Principal Dr. Janelle Brooks, Dean of Fine Arts Mrs. Dee Hammonds, and music teacher Mr. Christopher Blackmon, were celebrated at the MNPS Board Meeting for their contribution to the district’s docuseries, "Music City High: A Celebration of the Arts in Nashville Public Schools."
We’re also proud to celebrate Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School and Cane Ridge High School, who were recognized for their contributions to the first two episodes of the docuseries. What an incredible showcase of the arts across MNPS! 💫
A huge shoutout to Dr. Brooks for inspiring this masterpiece, Mr. Blackmon for writing such a powerful musical, Mrs. Hammonds for bringing it to life through her direction, and our phenomenal cast for pouring their hearts into every moment on stage.
This is what it looks like when arts and academics come together to build greatness—brick by brick. 🧱❤️

Last night, our 4th and 5th grade students took the stage at the MNPS Elementary Music Festival and truly shined! From the vibrant rhythms of the African drums to the beautiful melodies on the xylophone, our students represented Warner Arts Magnet with excellence, confidence, and joy. 🎶✨
A huge shoutout to Christopher Blackmon for his incredible dedication and talent—not only preparing our students for this moment, but also contributing to the arrangement of a song performed by elementary students across the district. What an impact!
We are so proud of our Cool Cats for showing what it means to lead with both arts and academics. 🐾💙

Our Warner Arts Magnet chapter of the National Beta Club spent the afternoon in service to our community, partnering with Trash Kitties for a cleanup at East Park. Together, our students collected 40 pounds of trash, helping care for a space that so many families in East Nashville enjoy.
And if you notice the pajamas—no worries! We were wrapping up Read Across America Week with Pajama Day as our students cozied up with a good book earlier in the day before heading out to serve the community.
Service learning like this allows our students to see the direct impact of their actions. They experienced firsthand how working together can make a visible difference in their community while strengthening their sense of responsibility, leadership, and pride in East Nashville.
A huge thank you to our Beta Club sponsors, Mrs. Belgon and Dr. McKenney, for leading and supporting this meaningful work, and to Trash Kitties for partnering with our students to help keep our community beautiful.
Building greatness brick by brick, through service.

Our were so excited! Thank you so much! 📚
Our fourth graders have been studying ecosystems, and their learning recently came to life through incredible diorama projects. Each student created a detailed model representing a specific ecosystem, showcasing the plants, animals, and environmental features that make each habitat unique.
This project is another great example of how we integrate the arts into everyday instruction at Warner Arts Magnet Elementary. By combining creativity with academic learning, our students are able to deepen their understanding and truly bring their learning to life.
