In Spanish, "madrugar" means to wake up early (really early 😝), often before sunrise. But it’s also one of those untranslatable words with a deeper meaning. For some Spanish speakers, it can carry a sense of dedication, purpose, and pride in starting the day strong.

💡 For language teachers, words like "madrugar" can spark great cultural conversations. They remind us that when students learn new vocabulary, they’re also discovering new ways people experience everyday life.

In Spanish-speaking countries, “merienda” is a light snack enjoyed between lunch and dinner, often shared with family or friends.
