May is Better Speech and Hearing Month! Every year, ASHA dedicates the month of May to spreading awareness about communication disorders and the roles ASHA members play in serving those living with communication disorders. Stay tuned to this page and our instagram () this month as we celebrate Better Speech and Hearing!

Each May, Better Hearing & Speech Month (BHSM) provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and role of ASHA members in providing life-altering treatment.

For our October philanthropy project, NSSLHA partnered with FairPlay to learn how to make switch adapted toys for children with motor differences! We adapted over 18 toys to be donated to an adapted toy library. Visit on Instagram to learn more about their organization!

September is Hunger Action Month! 1 in 8 Middle Tennesseans struggle with hunger. Members of NSSLHA and other volunteers spent the afternoon sorting 5,199 pounds of fresh produce to go back into the community. Thank you Second Harvest Food Bank for having us!! @ Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

A group of students and clinicians at Vanderbilt Medical Center is raising money to create a library of adapted toys for families to borrow so that their children can have experiences playing like every other child.
