At the heart of a strong union are strong relationships, and that commitment is exemplified by Angela Patton (MNEA Communications Liaison at Oliver Middle School) and Dr. Paula Pendergrass (MNEA President). Together, they understand that meaningful connections with educators are the foundation of effective advocacy, collaboration, and member engagement. By listening, communicating, and building trust, they help ensure that every educator feels supported, valued, and empowered. Their leadership reflects MNEA's belief that when relationships come first, stronger schools, stronger communities, and a stronger union follow.
