Julia Green PTO Listserv/ Social Media Policy
Julia Green PTO publishes photos and accounts of the activities and accomplishments of our students through the Julia Green Listserv, using secure email marketing provider my emma ©, and Julia Green PTO Parents social media page on Facebook. Information posted will be limited to:
• School news, meetings and events
• Calls to Action: Volunteer, Donate,
Vote, Join
• Results of fundraisers and elections
• Legislative updates
• Thanks to (and photos) of volunteers and their work
• Appreciation to (and photos) of teachers, faculty and staff
• Thanks to corporate sponsors (use their )
• Local news/ events, parenting and education content
• Student activities and accomplishments (photos with consent)
Associated Persons (AP), including parents, Listserv and page administrators, will adhere to the following guidelines:
• AP will not use social media page for any illegal activity.
• AP will be sensitive to students' privacy and will not distribute any information that might be deemed personal about a student without signed consent from the student's parent/ guardian.
• AP will not TAG photos of students (by student or parent name) on Facebook.
• Parents will model appropriate behavior online. Any disagreement or need for clarification about PTO policies, faculty/ staff, or other families will not be handled in public forums like social media.
• Inappropriate postings will be immediately removed. Multiple offenses will result in the offender being blocked from the page. We would like to be able to include your child in our media, but also want to be sensitive to our students' privacy. Parents should indicate their preference for their child(ren)'s inclusion by completing the Photo Release form. Please note, this form will be emailed to existing Listserv members. New Listserv members will be prompted to complete the form when they sign up to join Listserv via Julia Green's website.
