Vanderbilt Graduate Student Biomedical Research Advocates
Our goal is to convey to our elected representatives and to the general public the importance of biomedical research in human health and driving the economy.
A group of graduate students and their faculty advisers at Vanderbilt University who are interested in advocating for biomedical research. This advocacy includes increasing awareness among public officials and the public in general about the economic and human health benefits derived from biomedical research.
A Nashville, TN based group known as Life Science Tennessee (LST) is actively involved in promoting Bio-medical research in TN. They have recently put together a report on the impact this research has on the economy of TN. This is a link to that report. It is highly recommended as a good source for research advocacy information.

This is link to the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) Bio-medical research advocacy site. There are alerts about current funding proposals and regulations being proposed in DC along with many other useful resources.
