Saturday was a free day in London. Some of the students went to a local market, others attended a trade show. Cheryl and I visited the Royal Opera House again and took pictures of the poster displays, walked through the West End theatre district and got tickets for Tina: The Tina Turner musical. It was a phenomenal show and it was easy to believe that the star was actually Tina Turner. A few pictures are included

London, baby!!! So much to do and so little time. No time to post until now. Here's a brief overview: Tower of London, Come From Away musical, Merry Wives of Windsor play at Globe Theater, Royal Opera House, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's, Westminster. Almost too much to tell about it!

Friday was our last day in Florence, leaving for Rome on Saturday morning. It was a free day to visit favorite spots again, take more pictures of the duomo and get one more gelato cone. What a great city and a great experience!

Today was beautiful in Florence! Perfect weather for our next to last day before leaving for Rome on Saturday morning. We spent the afternoon at the Uffizi Museum, three floors of artwork, mostly collected by the Medici family. We didn't see it all, but saw some of the great works of art in this collection. The evening was 'on your own.' Several stayed downtown to see the cathedral (duomo) after dark, some returned to the villa and at least one had spaghetti for supper followed by an individual cheesecake covered in chocolate sauce! Enjoy some pictures.

Another fabulous day in Venice, a water taxi (vaporetto) ride, shopping at Murano and visiting a couple more churches. And, yes, if you sit outside in the back of a vaporetto, you may get wet! Enjoy some pictures.

Spent Tuesday in Venice, visited St. Mark's, saw the grave of Monteverdi at another church, ended the evening with dinner and a concert of Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

Some great pictures of our group! They are awesome people, a pleasure to be with, dedicated and passionate. Jeff McPherson has done an unbelievable job as the leader of our trip: made reservations, checked schedules over and over again, worked and reworked the budget, and booked tickets for planes, trains, buses, a Vivaldi concert, a Verdi opera, museums, cathedrals, a Shakespeare play, and everything in between. Carolee McPherson took on the job of 'mother' for eight college students for three weeks with a beautiful spirit and loving attitude that has made every student thoroughly enjoy being with her. It's been a treat to spend the first week with two wonderful colleagues and with this amazing group. The next two weeks should be awesome!
