We are excited this week to host our first group of Meharry/Tennessee State University (TSU) Medical School Early Acceptance Program students. These exceptional students are part of a new program named for TSU alumnus Dr. Levi Watkins Jr., who holds an honorary degree from Meharry. The program is designed to increase the number of African American students who are on track to become doctors and dentists. These students are starting their first year at TSU, but are on campus at Meharry this week to experience life as a Meharry student. They will complete their undergraduate degree at TSU and medical school studies at Meharry in seven years, instead of eight. Congrats, to our first class of Dr. Levi Watkins Jr. students.

Friends and Family Brunch Gala: “A Toast to the Impact We’ve Made”. Join us on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 via Zoom at 1pm as we highlight and honor Meharrians for the impact they have made on campus and within the community. Our keynote speaker will also provide great insight on leadership and playing a vital tole within the community. The student support gift winners will be announced as well!

Students, alumni faculty and staff: Join us on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 as we kick off our annual Family and Friends Week! From 4-6pm at the Meharry Medical College Ampitheatre, we will have music and food as a token of appreciation to everyone for their volunteering and service. Food will be guaranteed and provided to the first 100 guests, so please arrive early to ensure you spot! Social distancing and mask protocols will be strictly enforced.
