Grateful to spend this afternoon at GEODIS Park for the Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant announcement event.

Belmont Fast Forward - serving as the backbone organization for the GOAL Collective — was honored to receive continued support from DGLF to help advance adult literacy, educational access, and workforce pathways across Middle Tennessee.

One of the most encouraging parts of the afternoon was seeing several GOAL Collective partners in the room together — a reminder that this work truly is collaborative and community-centered.

The event highlighted more than $2 million in funding awarded to 60+ organizations across Tennessee, all focused on creating brighter futures through literacy and education.

Also… no visit to Geodis Park would be complete without a selfie with Tempo! (I laughed when I realized he was behind me during the presentation and took a photo to send to my soccer loving sons.)

are a vibrant symbol of the empowering work of the DGLF - during back-to-school season, DG shoppers can purchase $2 yellow sunglasses with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Foundation’s mission work. 💛😎

Thankful for the partnership of Dollar General Literacy Foundation, our Belmont and GOAL Collective colleagues, and the many organizations doing this work alongside us every day.

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest," wrote Benjamin Franklin in 1758 in 'The Way to Wealth.' GOAL Collective celebrates the wisdom of this message, as we make plans to advocate for adult education in Middle Tennessee this year. Our collective success as a city, region, state, and nation depend upon equitable access to high-quality educational programs.

Benjamin Franklin was born on this day in 1706. A polymath, this Founding Father was a lifelong student and proponent of reading and learning. He established a subscription library in Philadelphia in 1731 that persists to this day. He also promoted a higher educational model that focused on training for professions with subject area experts instead of single tutors, and lessons in English instead of Latin. He established the United States Post Office and served as the nation's first Postmaster General, facilitating the transmission of knowledge throughout the new nation.
