I'm excited to be sharing The Courage to Cross the Threshold at Women in Technology of TN's event. The Courage to Cross the Threshold is an inspiring, interactive talk that challenges audiences to rethink how they approach risk, opportunity, and growth. Through powerful storytelling and practical insight, Stephanie helps participants recognize the doors opening in their lives, understand what keeps them from stepping forward, and learn how to take confident action even when fear is present. Rather than waiting to feel “ready,” audiences discover how courage is built through movement, small bold steps, and trusting the voice within that says it’s time for more. Attendees leave energized, clear on their next step, and ready to turn opportunity into meaningful progress.

Did you know that you can raise your team’s leadership lid with genuine moments of connection, laughter, and camaraderie by playing a teambuilding game? Through interactive exercises and insightful discussions, teams embark on a journey of self-discovery and mutual understanding, providing actionable steps for improvement. This game was facilitated for The Together Project.

Thank you for allowing me to share how to take risks with confidence!

Thank you, Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce (TN) Women in Business Luncheon, for the opportunity to share why doors open, what prevents us from walking through them, and how to take risks with confidence.

Women in Business Luncheon: The Courage to Cross the Threshold 03/03/2026

Won't you join us TODAY?

Some doors don’t open twice.

Our upcoming Women in Business Luncheon centers around one powerful question: when opportunity presents itself, will you have the courage to move?

In The Courage to Cross the Threshold, Stephanie Richardson will challenge us to think differently about risk, growth, and decisive action. This is not about waiting until you feel ready. It’s about recognizing the moment, trusting yourself, and moving forward with clarity and courage.

You’ll walk away with:
• A clear understanding of why doors open in your life
• Insight into what may be holding you back
• Practical steps to strengthen your confidence and take bold, intentional action

If you’re ambitious, driven, and ready for your next level in business or leadership, this luncheon is for you.

Come ready to grow. Come ready to move. Come ready to cross the threshold.

Special thanks to our presenting sponsor Williamson Health Foundation for making this event possible.

This Friday, I’m speaking at the Music City Veterinary Conference as a Practice Management Speaker.

My topic: The Most Challenging Person to Lead.
It’s not your team.
It’s not your clients.
It’s you.

Veterinarians carry enormous responsibility — patient care, client emotions, staff dynamics, business pressure, long hours. And when you’re constantly leading others without leading yourself well, burnout isn’t far behind.

In this session, we’ll focus on:
• Self-leadership first
• Creating healthier boundaries
• Building more balance without lowering standards

Because when you lead yourself well, your team feels it.
Your culture shifts.
Your life feels lighter.

If you’ll be at the conference, come say hello — I’d love to meet you.

PowerPoint should support you.
Not replace you.
Recently, I coached a client who had slides packed with paragraphs.
Detailed.
Thorough.
And completely overwhelming.
She was using her slides as a safety net — reading them to remember what came next.
But here’s the problem:
If you’re saying the exact same words that are on the screen…your audience stops listening to you.
They start reading.
And when they’re reading, they’re not connecting WITH you.
You become background noise.
Your slides are NOT your script.
You should know your presentation so well that if the technology failed that day — no WiFi, no clicker, no projector — you could still deliver with confidence.
Because it’s in you, not on the screen.
Another client shared this with me after hearing a speaker at a networking event:
“I was so busy reading the slides. The font was tiny. I felt lost.”
That speaker didn’t lose credibility because of content.
She lost it because of clutter.
Here’s a simple rule I teach:
6 x 6 Rule
No more than 6 words per line.
No more than 6 lines per slide.
Better yet? Use fewer.
Slides should add to your message —
a powerful image,
a single phrase,
a compelling graphic,
a short video clip.
Let your voice carry the meaning.
Let your presence carry the impact.
If your audience can get the same experience by reading your slides without you…
You’re not presenting.
You’re narrating a document.
And they don’t need you for that.
Your message matters.
It deserves to be heard — not read off a screen.
If you want support refining your slides and delivering with confidence, I’d be honored to walk through it with you.
