Recently, Nashville School of Law alumnus Kevin Kennedy '83, senior member of The Kennedy Law Firm in Clarksville, hosted the firm's 2026 Legal Internship Program.

For decades, The Kennedy Law Firm has welcomed exceptional students from local high schools, colleges, universities, and law schools to participate in this unique summer experience.

Interns gain firsthand exposure to the legal system by meeting with judges from Chancery, Circuit, General Sessions, and Juvenile Courts, while also attending presentations from the District Attorney's Office and private attorneys practicing both civil and criminal law at the state and federal levels.

"This program allows experienced members of the bench and bar to mentor and share their expertise with a new generation that is shaping the future of our legal system," said Kevin Kennedy.

Well done, Kevin!

Twenty-five years ago, Nashville School of Law Alumnus Jeff Cherry ’01 crossed the stage and received his law degree at the NSL graduation ceremony. His wife Stacey and their three little ones were in the crowd cheering him on - including his then 17-month-old baby boy named Jackson who you see in the photo below.

Today, that same little boy followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from NSL himself. And as if the moment couldn’t be more special, Jackson and his wife Hailey are now preparing to welcome their own son in just a few short weeks.

From one generation to the next, the Cherry family story is a wonderful reminder that dreams and legacy truly come full circle.

Congratulations to you Jackson, and to the entire Cherry family on this unforgettable milestone!
