Real influence comes not from title or position, but from character and the way one treats others. True leaders cause others to feel good in their presence rather than defensive, anxious, suspicious or afraid. They motivate others from within, rather than imposing external controls. They may be hard to satisfy, but they are easy to please; being much more positive and encouraging than negative, critical and corrective. Genuine leaders build morale and wins hearts—showing the way by example.
