It may be summer time, but we are still dreaming of the amazing things that occurred in our classrooms this year! The last week of school our second graders hosted their own Farmer's Market as the culmination of both math and reading units. The students had learned about healthy foods and had to select a food to create using clay and then sell their food at the Farmer's Market. They put the money skills they learned in math to the test as they sold and gave change to their classmates purchasing their healthy foods! Students incorporated our Dual Language theme by presenting their goods in both English and Spanish. Way to go second grade!

In fourth grade science, students learn about food webs and ecosystems. To bring this learning to life, our fourth graders had a visit from the Nashville Zoo this week and got to learn about three different animals, their ecosystems, and how they survive. Students enjoyed learning about the ball python, the Mexican box turtle, and a skunk. We love when learning becomes real!

At Glenview, we utilize AVID to make sure our students are college and career ready. Our fourth grade students took things to the next level, researching STEM careers as a culmination to their year-long learning in science! They had to research the career, why it is important, the tools they use, and the uniforms they wear. Then, students practiced and made videos! They will be presenting their careers live at a Wax Museum this week. Check out these talented fourth graders!
