✨3 Things You Might Not Know About Branding…
So you’ve started a business. Everyone is telling you to create a logo, develop a brand, start a sales funnel, remember sales tax, remember your customer journey, and trademark your work, right?
It’s super overwhelming and so much to remember! Especially if you’re new to business.
So let’s break one of these things down..
What IS branding and what should you really know about it?
❤️Branding is the cohesive feeling, imaging, and messaging your business sends out to the world. It’s made up of your logo, colors, how you speak to your audience, values, and mission.
There’s a lot more to branding that ONLY a stellar logo. It’s purpose is to shape how your audience feels and identifies with your business.
So where do you start?
1. Identify the people who are your soulmate customers and clients. If you could fill your roster, shop, days up with helping and serving these people - who are they?
This helps you narrow down what imaging and messaging would resonate with them.
2. Look at your business - What do you want people to feel when they interact with it? Warmth? Integrity? Exclusivity?
Make a list of 3-5 feelings and ask yourself how you can include opportunities to make them feel those things. Maybe you only allow five couture orders, or maybe you have a special greeting or policy in place when mistakes happen.
3. Stop trying to please everyone - Your branding is in place to repel the wrong people AS MUCH, IF NOT MORE than attracting the right people.
What does that mean? Share your values, polarizing beliefs, take a stand and don’t be afraid that your business won’t be serving everyone. No business is capable of serving everyone, not even large corporations.
Branding is only a small piece of the business ecosystem, but it’s a foundational piece as it serves as guidelines for everything else.
I’d love to know, was this helpful? Any Aha moments or questions? Leave them in the comments!
Onward,
