“Come back when you have a pop song.” YIKES! Don’t let this be you! Bringing in the wrong material can cost you an audition.

Why? Because pop/rock shows so much more than just your voice:

✨ Your vocal versatility & colors
✨ Your ability to groove and feel rhythm
✨ Your storytelling skills without the context of a show
✨ Your creativity—because there’s no “right” way to sing it

So for all my golden age singers, my Disney princess mixers, and my bright Broadway belters who are anxious about singing pop rock music, I hear you, but here is one thing to remember:

You don’t need to riff like Beyoncé or wail like Celine Dion to be competitive in pop/rock auditions.

You just need the right tools to make these songs work for you.
