Project Underground

Project Underground is a hands-on K-12 environmental education curriculum and activity guide focused on cave education through the topics of geology, biology, and history. Learn about the world beneath our feet to understand the importance of groundwater, underground contamination, bat biology, and ancient civilizations.

Workshops for educators of all types are welcome to attend a workshop to receive the Project Underground book and instruction on using the activities.

Facilitators of the workshops are needed in individual states. If you have used the curriculum previously or have an interest in helping with workshops, please contact the National Coordinator, Christine Walkey, at 423-541-3932 or sending a message to [email protected]

Project Underground is an initiative of Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc (SCCi). Founded in 1991, SCCi is the world’s largest land conservancy dedicated solely to cave conservation. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization relying on donations and memberships to achieve our mission of protecting caves and karst landscapes throughout the Southeastern US through conservation, education and recreation.
