Tennesseans for Student Success are bad actors who have an anti-public education agenda for our state. This group is involved in legislative races statewide attacking and undermining pro-public education incumbents. Where they support legislative candidates in Republican primaries, images of the president and governor are used in their mailers to tout a voucher agenda.
This bad-actor group is involved in trying to defeat Rep. Mike Stewart in the Democratic primary in a Nashville House district. Stewart has received the endorsement of TEA-FCPE because of his outstanding voting record and effort to defeat attacks on public schools.
This privatization group ran highly polished mail in support of Stewart’s primary opponent. TEA-FCPE sent voters a mailer showing the two-faced nature of TFSS, using images of Trump and Lee in a GOP primary and supporting Stewart’s opponent in a Democratic primary.
The TEA-FCPE mailer stated the candidate should have rejected voucher support. TEA-FCPE has received a statement from the campaign in question that they “decline any future relationship and denounce any support” from Tennesseans for Student Success. Good.
TEA-FCPE is bi-partisan, recognizing opposition of vouchers occurs in both parties and is always vigilant to support pro-public education incumbents.
