Thank you to everyone who came to our convo yesterday, despite the rain! We had a wonderful time watching the film “Deeply Rooted” and discussing the importance of seed-saving and biodiversity with members of Slow Food Middle Tennessee (Caroline McDonald and Mary Allyson McGinnis) as well as Allison Mills Neal, a local farmer (and Belmont University alum!!!) and seed-saver from Arugula Star Farms, and Joan Clayton-Davis, a master Gardner. We also learned about the Nashville public library and their seed exchange...what a wonderful way to get involved on a local level!

Slow foodies! Yesterday a few of us had the opportunity to visit Alison Mills Neal (a Belmont alum) and her family on her farm, Arugala Star Farms, out in Leipers Fork. We learned about the farm, its history, and the produce they are known for. We got to talk to Alison about some exciting opportunities (including possibly working on her farm once a month for convo credit and having a monthly CSA on campus!) Stay tuned for announcements regarding convo events and possible service opportunities! In the meantime, check out these gorgeous photos:)
