We’re proud of the work that went into building our new and improved learning materials, and even more excited to see where they take our students. ¡Seguimos aprendiendo! 📚🤝

We couldn’t have done it without the incredible local artists, businesses, and cultural ambassadors who have shared their creativity, expertise, and perspectives with us. Join us for this screening designed for Spanish-speakers and Spanish language learners. We’ll introduce the film by discussing its historical context and key vocabulary.

After the screening, we’ll have bilingual Spanish/English small group discussions about the main themes and takeaways. We especially encourage educators and students to attend, as the film centers on the role of education in our communities.

We’ll also have information from 3 teacher-led organizations fighting for better systems and support for our students, educators, and families:

Save the date! Voces is hosting a bilingual film screening of La Lengua de las Mariposas at Random Sample on July 9th 🎥🍿

Ages 17+ are welcome to join us for this Spanish language screening with subtitles in English. We’ll introduce the film by discussing its historical context and key vocabulary. 

After the screening, we’ll have bilingual Spanish/English small group discussions about key themes and takeaways. 🗣️

We especially encourage teachers to attend, as the film centers on the role of education.

There will be information about local teacher-led initiatives and organizations that you can join and/or support, including tnteacherstakeaction Barrio Education for Liberation and The Educators' Cooperative

Please note that the film is rated R for sexual content and moderate violence.

Maestras Betty, Karen, Gaby, Ana, and Claudia all had classes full of new friends, old friends, lots of laughs, and excellent Spanish-language conversations. Thank you as always, Nashville, for showing up to build bridges in our every-growing multilingual community.
