Nashville is growing and so is the need for reliable childcare, the waiting lists for daycare spots, and let's not even talk about the prices!

We decided a long time ago that a commercial daycare setting wasn't quite right for our family and we needed to figure out how I could be home with our boys and still work, so the idea of home daycare was born and it had been such an incredible blessing. I'm a big kid at heart myself and have over 20 years of experience working with kids, including 5 years with Metro schools, 5 years of home daycare, and 3 boys and a stepdaughter of my own...

Our space is just right for a few littles between ages 1 - 5 (walking or almost walking) to hang out and feel at home without what is sometimes overwhelming stimulation in a large daycare setting. I keep 3 to 5 little ones at a time and we spend our days playing outside, using our imaginations, creating, and just hanging out. Every kiddo that comes through our door becomes part of our little family, and you can trust that they will feel loved, safe, and valued while the people that love them most are away at work.

Childcare prices are insane these days so affordability is also something to consider when choosing the right provider. My rates are competitive with other local providers and I offer weekly or hourly rates based on needs. Space is limited so there may be a minimum for hourly kiddos.

One more important thing to remember when choosing home daycare is that as a mom, just like you, my family comes first. My schedule is based on my kiddos school schedules, so when they go on breaks, my schedule for that week may change to allow us to spend that time together. I also need to be available sometimes for school events, doctor's appointments, and things like that, which means you'll need a backup.. I always make an effort to inform parents 2 weeks ahead of any days I will be unavailable, and weekly rates will be adjusted. It's very important to me to be involved in my children's school so I do set aside 1 or 2 days each month to volunteer, chaperone a trip etc. Again unless there's an emergency, at least 2 weeks notice will be given for days I won't be at home, but for the most part, my door is open.
