In this part of our discussion about Kathryn Krick and her ministry, we address what concerns us most.

We believe it’s important to be fair. It’s possible for someone to begin with a genuine calling or anointing from God and still face the very real temptation of receiving honor that belongs to God alone. We cannot know Kathryn’s heart, and we are not claiming to know her motives. But some of what we’ve seen raises serious concerns for us.

In particular, there are videos of people bowing before her in ways that appear to go beyond ordinary honor or appreciation. Cultural explanations have been offered, but Scripture gives us examples of even angels and servants of God immediately refusing worship directed toward them (Revelation 19:10; 22:8–9; Acts 10:25–26).

So where is the line between honoring a minister and giving a person reverence that belongs to God?

Our concern isn’t that Kathryn Krick should be mocked, attacked, or automatically dismissed. It’s that every ministry—including powerful or fruitful ministries—must remain centered on Jesus Christ. The greater the influence, the greater the temptation can become to receive what was always meant to point back to Him.

This is our attempt to examine that concern biblically while leaving the final judgment of Kathryn’s heart and ministry to God.

Pastor Andy continues our discussion about Kathryn Krick and the concerns surrounding her ministry—but he also points to something much bigger than one person.

Could someone begin with a genuine desire to serve God and, somewhere along the way, lose sight of where the focus belongs?

This isn't something unique to Kathryn Krick. Throughout Christian ministry, we've seen people who appeared to begin with sincere intentions but eventually allowed influence, recognition, power, money, or the attention of others to change the direction of their ministry.

We can't know Kathryn's heart, and we're not claiming that we know exactly what has happened. We're asking whether this could help explain some of what we're seeing.

Pastor Andy's greatest concern is what happens afterward: people see questionable behavior from Christian leaders and conclude, “See? Christianity is fake.”

But the failure of a Christian leader doesn't make Jesus fake. The failure of a ministry doesn't mean the genuine work of God isn't real.

That's why discernment and accountability matter—especially when a ministry becomes influential.

“I had never experienced anything like it."

During the five Kathryn Krick events where my husband and I served on the worship team and in altar ministry, I encountered a spiritual atmosphere unlike anything I had experienced before. I have participated in deliverance ministry many times, but this was on another level from my perspective.

Not every pastor who hurts people looks “toxic.”
Some look faithful. Charismatic. Untouchable.

But when spiritual authority is used to control, silence questions, avoid accountability, and protect an institution over people, that isn’t leadership. It’s harm.

If this list feels familiar, you’re not rebellious. You’re discerning.
Healthy pastors welcome questions, accountability, and truth.

Toxic systems depend on silence.
