King’s Academy exists to reflect the light of Christ in a school community that displays the beautiful diversity of God’s Kingdom.

King’s Academy is a Pre-K to 12th grade, currently enrolling through 9th, Christ-centered school in Nashville, Tennessee, providing a classical education to a racially and socioeconomically balanced student body. Through the creation of a diverse school community, we ask God to bind up the deep wounds of racism and disunity within the Body of Christ. Through God’s grace and to His glory, we seek t

o be an example to the watching world of the restorative power of the Spirit at work amongst His people. OUR MISSION
King’s Academy will provide a first-class Christ-centered education for a student body that is both racially and socioeconomically diverse from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. We seek to help each student see their inherent God-given dignity as they are empowered to step into who God has uniquely created them to be, as sons and daughters of the King.

In this hot, hot, hot season, we had some problems with our AC unit not functioning at full capacity in the elementary hallway. These courageous workers from Lee Company came out to fix it, working tirelessly on our roof in the blazing sun all day yesterday and today, so our 1st graders took that opportunity to “be the Light” and “plant in the garden of goodness” for these workers! 1st grade wrote heartfelt notes of appreciation, delivered with snacks and refreshing drinks!

One 1st grader reflected, “We filled their bucket and now mine is overflowing and making a mess on the floor!” What a tremendous reminder these 1st graders gave us to continually look for opportunities to be Lights in this world!

Thank you, 1st grade! Keep finding ways to shine the Light!

Can’t visit DC without an evening monument tour! Students explored the National Mall to catch a sight of the monuments at sunset and nighttime! Students learned about the Washington Monument, the background to World War 2 and the monument, MLK and the monument dedicated to him, and the Lincoln Memorial!

9th Grade cleaned up nicely for their visits to the United States Capitol Building and the White House!

From the Speakers Balcony to the Chamber of the House of Representatives and from the West Wing to the Press Briefing Room - our students loved learning more about the US government, the history of our nation, and how law and policy works its way from idea to implementation through the different branches of government!

We still aren’t over our 9th grade trip to DC! Students spent time at the Museum of the Bible exploring not only the history of Scripture, but some of the big questions surrounding it.

They saw fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, learned about the preservation and transmission of biblical texts, and wrestled with two important questions: Is the Bible true? And is the Bible good?

But perhaps the most important question is what we do with the story we’ve been given. The beauty of the Bible isn’t found only in its history, its poetry, or even the remarkable way it has been preserved. Its beauty is revealed most clearly when its story takes shape in us—when we live as people of love, justice, mercy, courage, and hope. We don’t simply get to read this beautiful story. We get to live it—and, in doing so, add to the beauty!

Our 9th Graders and Chaperones have enjoyed Washington, DC this week with a major highlight being a tour of the West Wing of The White House. Students were able to sit in the Situation Room, see the Watch Room in action, and see the Oval Office. Our tour concluded with a stop by the White House Press Briefing Room!

Students had the chance to learn about the history of the White House and the Executive Branch of government.

Each of these students has a powerful voice and we cannot wait to see how they use it to add beauty to the world!

They show up early to plan birthday books, spend their lunch time getting to know students, solve problems no one else even knew existed, adapt when plans change, and prayerfully pour their hearts into their students every single day.
