At 2nd Nature Academy (SNA), we foster a rigorous and responsive learning environment where students in grades K-12 thrive, not simply survive, in their formative academic years. We encourage students to explore, inquire, collaborate, create, analyze, and solve relevant problems. Our unique and original educational model combines elements of skills-based curricula, Project Based Learning, transdis

ciplinary studies, and whole child philosophy. We maintain a low student to teacher ratio to allow teachers the flexibility to implement strategies for differentiated, individualized instruction and build positive relationships with students. Teachers set expectations for high standards and academic achievement while also supporting social emotional health and wellness for all students. Project Based Learning allows students to engage in collaborative exploration and work on authentic projects to solve complex, real-world challenges. Transdisciplinary studies integrate the perspectives of multiple disciplines in the problem-solving process. Students learn through questioning, investigating, researching, reasoning, comparing, and reflecting. They demonstrate their skills and knowledge by creating genuine products and presentations for real audiences. Whole child educational philosophy ensures that students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged in school. We encourage students to work collaboratively in both small and large groups, thus promoting a balance between a sense of self and belonging to the group. By working together, they develop important interpersonal and communication skills such as dialogue, negotiation, compromise, empathy, self-control, problem solving, and conflict resolution. Each student has the opportunity for his/her voice to be heard. These practices have resulted in a tight-knit school community, further strengthened by participation in student facilitated service learning projects as well as events and activities on campus.

Only 1 more week of the 2026 season! 😢 We've had the best summer with our awesome counselors, so we took some time to get to know them better before we part ways. The results were unexpected to say the least... 🤷

Pathways to SNA celebrated "color week" and our vibrant teaching team wore all the colors of the tie dye rainbow at Wednesday's Bubble Party. We ❤ our teachers and the community they build for their littles!

From the classroom to a lasting community impact! 📚✨

We love seeing our youngest community members enjoying the Newt Nook—SNA’s new mini free library!

What started as a PBL project in Mrs. Chiccino’s Exploring Censorship through Banned Books elective came to life thanks to Class of 2026 graduate Ryan Smith and his team.

What a marvelous legacy to leave on our campus! 🧡💙

We made a splash and a half at camp this week! 💦 🌊 Hard to believe we’re almost at the halfway mark of the 2026 season! 😳

Last week in Brainwave, campers embarked on Craft Your Quest, imagining and creating Minecraft worlds of their own through engaging challenges. This week, Portal Leap has campers exploring worlds and answering some big questions through guided lessons aimed to spark curiosity.

🌎 What kind of world is this?
👥 Who lives here?
✨ What makes it special?

Can’t wait to see what answers they come up with!

Big ideas start small! 🦈💡 Last week, our "Little Shark, Big Ideas" campers stepped into the shoes of young entrepreneurs. They designed logos, learned real-world money concepts, and pitched their inventions in a "Shark Tank–style" finale.

So proud of these future CEOs and their incredible problem-solving skills! 🚀
