I've decided to extend my special on Guitar set-ups until the end of the Summer.

So, full set-ups on Acoustic, Electric and Bass Guitars are only $30. If you need me to supply strings, I charge what I pay. No markup.

I offer pick-up and delivery. Or I can bring my tools and portable bench to your home and do the work there.

For those unfamiliar, a set-up is routine maintenance which keeps the instrument playing and sounding its best. Ideally, this should be done a couple of times per year. But, how often you get a set-up really depends on a combination of playing style, frequency of use, the environment where the guitar is stored and the guitar itself.

Set-ups include the following as needed:
-Neck Adjustment
-Fretboard conditioning
-Bridge height adjustment
-Intonation
-Restringing
-Clean and polish
-Fret polishing
-Tightening loose screws, nuts etc.
-Adjusting pickup height

I'm expanding my guitar repair service to include in-home service.

Basically, I'll travel to you with my tools and portable work bench and perform the repairs and maintenance at your home.

So, if you have a guitar in need of attention, message me and we'll set up an appointment for a house call.

Here's this week's Guitar maintenance tip.

Be sure to treat your unfinished fretboards (and bridges on some acoustics) with Lemon Oil when you change the strings.

Woods like rosewood are naturally oily. Consequently, they don't require a protective finish. This makes these woods ideal for fretboards as the finish will tend to wear off over time. But, it will dry out over time.

Also, the oil will help to compensate for the extreme variations in humidity here in New England and lessen the impact on the neck's relief.
