21st Century Extended Day Program operates out of 7 elementary schools in the Nashua School District:

🇮🇹✈️ Ciao from Italy! 🍕🍝

Our 21st Century Passport Club students packed their bags and traveled to ITALY today! 🌍❤️

Students discovered why Italy is shaped like a boot 👢, why the Leaning Tower of Pisa leans, and learned about famous Italian composers and Renaissance artists. 🎨🎶 They even made a fun connection—the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are named after famous Renaissance artists! 🐢

Of course, we couldn’t visit Italy without exploring its delicious foods! 🍇🧀🍝🍕🍨

Our little travelers got to:
🇮🇹 Taste delicious Caprese salad!
🗼 Build their own Leaning Tower of Pisa!
🎨 Watercolor famous Italian dishes!
❤️🤍💚 Create Italian flags using melting beads!

From art and architecture to history and food, our students had a bellissimo time exploring Italian culture through hands-on learning!

Next stop? Who knows where our passports will take us! 🌎✈️

Our 2nd and 3rd graders had a BLAST with their Spooky Pumpkin Balloon Experiment! 🎃✨ Using just baking soda and vinegar, our little scientists explored chemical reactions and discovered how mixing these ingredients creates a gas that can inflate a balloon—all on its own! 🎈🤯 Who knew science could be so SPOOK-tacular?! 👻

🎢 with a TWIST! 🎡

Today, our 21st Century students took on an exciting Marble Run STEM Challenge! 🔵🏗️

But there was a catch! 👀 Teams could only use supplies they WON by spinning the wheel! 🎡 With just THREE chances to win materials, students had to get creative, think strategically, and work together to design and build a functioning marble run!

💡 From engineering and problem-solving to teamwork and creativity, our students put their STEM skills to the test!

🍂🎃 Fall Fun with Art, Patterns & Creativity! 🍁🎨

Our 2nd and 3rd grade 21st Century students got creative with Fall Zentangles! 🍁 Students brainstormed their favorite things about fall, chose words that reminded them of the season, and filled their pumpkins with repeating words, colorful designs, and unique patterns! 🎃🖍️

The creativity didn’t stop there! Students also made their own scarecrow puppets using symmetrical shapes to design and assemble their fall-inspired creations! 🌾

From exploring patterns and symmetry to expressing their creativity, our students had a blast combining art, math, and a little fall magic! 🍂✨

Things got a little mad at 21st Century today! 🤪🎨 Our students celebrated by designing and creating their very own one-of-a-kind hats—and, of course, wearing their masterpieces proudly!

🧪 STEAM Day at 21st Century! 🎨✨

Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students explored moving rainbows! 🌈 Using colored paper towels, water, and soap, they watched the colors travel, mix, and transform right before their eyes!

Then, students across all grades became toy designers and created their very own squishies! 🤩 They practiced measuring, stuffing, decorating, and taping to turn their ideas into their own handmade toys.

Science + creativity + hands-on learning = a great day at 21st Century! 💡🙌

SPNK: Supporting Parents of Neurodivergent Kids and Portsmouth Public Library are hosting a FREE five-part workshop series, Adventures in Neurodiverse Parenting, beginning tomorrow! These workshops are designed to provide helpful information, strategies, and support for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children.

You can attend virtually via Zoom! Participants may attend in person or virtually and can join one workshop or the entire series. Pre-registration is required for both in-person and virtual attendance.

All workshops are held from 6:00–7:30 PM:
• October 6 – Neurodiversity 101: Brains, Behaviors, and Big Feelings
• October 13 – The School Survival Guide: Navigating the Special Education Process
• October 20 – Kids Do Well if They Can: Introduction to Collaborative Problem Solving
• October 27 – You Matter Too: Managing Parent Stress, Burnout and the Urge to Hide in the Pantry
• November 3 – Lost in Translation: Helping Others Understand Your Neurodivergent Child

✈️🌎 Our 21st Century students are jet-setting around the globe in Passport Club! 🧳📚

Our latest stop was Greece! 🇬🇷 Students made Olympic-inspired laurel crowns, Greek flags and pottery, learned about Greece’s thousands of islands, and even tried spanakopita — which was a hit! 😋

Their passports have also taken them to China 🇨🇳, where they created pom-pom pandas, red envelopes, and Chinese New Year crafts, and Canada 🇨🇦, where they enjoyed maple cookies and made beaver puppets, colorful maple leaves, and animal-inspired totem pole crafts while learning about their meanings.

🌍✨ Passport Club gives our students a fun, hands-on way to explore different countries, traditions, foods, art, and cultures — all without leaving 21st Century!
