Why is Geometry so important?

A multi-year exposure to proof-based geometry gives students a strong logical foundation and the confidence to succeed in higher-level math. Through mathematical proofs, students learn to think critically, reason step by step, and support every conclusion with evidence, skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

At RSM, students begin Geometry as early as 6th grade, giving them years to develop logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and mathematical maturity. This preparation helps students excel in the SAT, AP courses, college-level mathematics, and competitions like Math Kangaroo, AMC 8, and MathCounts.

✨ Geometry is challenging, rewarding, and fun, and we can't wait to share our passion for it with your child!

RSM Alumni Spotlight: Aastha Gupta

At RSM, every student's journey is unique, and we are always excited to see where it leads.

Meet Aastha Gupta, an RSM alumna whose passion for learning continued well beyond the classroom. Aastha earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, followed by both a Master's degree and an MBA from the University of Florida.

Looking back, Aastha credits RSM with giving her a strong mathematical foundation that helped her excel in AP Calculus BC, earning college credit and allowing her to skip a calculus course in college.

One of her favorite memories is learning with Mrs. Bock.

"She was always so friendly and made sure you understood everything every step of the way. She explained concepts in multiple ways, so everything always made sense."

Aastha especially appreciated RSM's small class sizes and supportive learning environment, which helped her develop confidence in mathematics that stayed with her through college.

Her advice for current RSM students is simple but meaningful:

"Grades aren't everything! They're important, but it's okay to fall. As long as you pick yourself back up again."

Thank you, Aastha, for sharing your story with the RSM community. We are proud of all you have accomplished and wish you continued success in the future.

Does your child love solving challenging math problems and thinking outside the box?

Join the RSM Nashua Future Math Champions Tryouts and discover whether our Math Competition Program is the right fit!

During this FREE 30-minute tryout, students will solve engaging math problems that assess their mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Based on their performance, our instructors will recommend the competition class that best matches their level.

Our Math Competition Program runs from late September through May. It prepares students for prestigious competitions, including Math Kangaroo, Noetic Learning Math Contest, MOEMS, IMC, and AMC, while building critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.

Who should participate?
• Students who love math and enjoy a challenge
• Current RSM students interested in joining the Competition Program
• New students looking for advanced math enrichment

For 9 years, Abhijay Potluri has been part of RSM, building not only strong mathematical skills but also the confidence to tackle challenging problems with curiosity and determination.

"RSM played a big role in my progress, especially with its focus on problem-solving and truly understanding concepts, not just memorizing. All of my teachers have been a great influence, always challenging, supporting, and encouraging me to think deeper."

His advice to younger students:
"Try hard problems even if they seem impossible, and don't get discouraged when you're stuck; that's how you improve. Review your mistakes carefully because you often learn more from what you got wrong. Think of math like solving puzzles; it makes math much more fun."

This year, 11 students from RSM branches nationwide qualified for the USA(J)MO.

The USA(J)MO is one of the country's most selective math competitions. Students qualify based on their exceptional performance on the AMC and AIME, making this achievement a testament to advanced mathematical thinking, dedication, and perseverance.

Congratulations to our students, teachers, and families on this remarkable achievement!

Some journeys begin with a challenging math problem.

For Armaan Priyadarshan, the problem-solving mindset he developed at RSM became the foundation for an extraordinary academic journey. Along the way, he earned Johns Hopkins Grand Honors twice, became one of the top scorers in the New England Math League, and continued to excel at the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science.

Today, Armaan is pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics at Dartmouth College. He also gives back to his community by coaching local middle school Mathletes and mentoring younger students who share his passion for mathematics. This summer, he reached another exciting milestone by joining the Y Combinator Summer 2026 program, one of the world's most prestigious startup accelerators for early-stage founders.

His father shared:

"The rigorous mathematical foundation he built during his years at RSM was truly instrumental to his academic development. That early preparation paved the way for him to become a two-time Johns Hopkins Grand Honors winner and later a top scorer in the New England Math League."

Stories like Armaan's remind us that a strong mathematical foundation can open doors to incredible opportunities. Congratulations, Armaan! Your entire RSM family is proud of all you've accomplished, and we can't wait to see what comes next.
