Here's Why Small Group Art Classes are Best!

1. New students don't feel intimidated by the pressure of performing at a large group class.

When new students enter the studio they are often met with surprise and delight. Oftentimes I hear, "Are we your only students?!" from newcomers. My response is "yes!", because I love to keep the classes small and personable. Small classes take the pressure off of the need to perform in a group. Some newcomers also feel they will be judged by a group of people on the quality of their artwork.

2. Students get the care and attention that they deserve based on their skill level.

In a large group it's easy to get overlooked by the instructor. At Rhody Arts, new students are able to get the care and support that they need on an individual level. Adults are often hesitant to ask questions in a large group. Small group classes are simply more comfortable for new artists to relax and unwind in.

3. Instructor and students get to connect with each other on a more personable level.

We all get a chance to share in conversation and in the joy of artmaking on an intimate level. Small classes are great for getting to know each other and going deeper with conversation. In a two hour class you can really get to know someone and pick their brain. I have had some amazing conversations about art and travel with small groups. Couples really like the small groups because they are able to connect without the pressure of a larger group setting.
