Needle felting turns loose wool into a solid shape. A barbed needle locks the fibers together as campers work, and the whole process runs on repetition and patience rather than glue or machines.
It's one of the techniques campers learn in DEAN Fiber Arts camp, alongside embroidery, hand sewing, and pom-pom making.
Working with your hands this way builds fine motor skills and focus, and it teaches patience in a way that's hard to replicate anywhere else. Campers leave Friday with a finished piece and a clear sense of what they can make. 🧶
