2. Since it’s the only high school in Assumption Parish, AHS has a traditional family atmosphere where teachers, parents, and students know each other.
3. AHS offers Advanced Placement classes, honors classes, dual enrollment** and challenging academic classes such as calculus, law studies, advanc
ed math and trigonometry, speech, fine arts, sports medicine, health science, and principles of business.
5. Assumption High School also offers Industry-Based Certifications*** (IBCs) for Introduction to Business Computer Applications, Business Computer Applications, pipefitting, Certified Nursing Assistant, welding, carpentry, child development,
horticulture, and electricity.
6. Assumption High School offers articulated credit**** for successful completion of courses such as law studies, web design, food and nutrition, sports medicine,
child development and welding.
7. Our students consistently earn thousands of dollars through TOPS and other
scholarships and awards to colleges, universities, trade schools, & other post-
secondary educational institutions.
8. Educators serve as coaches and teach good sportsmanship through our
successful athletic programs.
9. Assumption High School has highly-qualified faculty members, many with
Master’s Degrees and/or National Board Certification.

Assumption High School graduates have become community leaders, doctors, lawyers, teachers, pharmacists, engineers, dentists, professional athletes, along with welders, carpenters, secretaries, salespeople, electricians and all the other jobs, occupations, and trades needed to make Assumption Parish a great place to live.
**Dual enrollment: A high school student is enrolled in a college course that counts for credit at both the college & the high school.
***Industry-Based Certification: A professional or trade certificate that shows a student has mastered specific skills that prove the student is job-ready upon leaving high school.
****Articulated credit: College credit for high school classes with similar content to those taught at a post-secondary educational institution.
