We are only TWO WEEKS away from rodeo action!

We are calling for the toughest and rowdiest of all rodeo contestants- the MUTTON BUSTERS!!!! The Assumption High FFA Rodeo on April 24 & 25 will have mutton bustin' for any little cowboys and cowgirls 8 & UNDER (60lb limit) who want to catch a wild ride on some rank stock.

Entries for the mutton bustin' will be taken before the rodeo performances each night from 5:30-6:30pm at the Assumption Parish Ag Center Complex and will cost $25.

We're getting closer to rodeo time in Assumption Parish, and we are looking for any members of the special needs community who want to be a cowboy or cowgirl for a day! 🤠

The 2026 Assumption FFA Special Needs Rodeo will be held at the Assumption Parish Ag Complex in Napoleonville from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, April 25. We will have pony rides, roping, a photo booth, petting zoo, face painting and MORE for all of the contestants to enjoy. Admission is FREE, and lunch will be provided to all of the cowboys and cowgirls, their families and volunteers!

IT'S RODEO MONTH! 🐮

Rodeo fans and FFA supporters, we are less than one month away from the 14th Annual Assumption High FFA Rodeo brought to you by Independent Contracting Services, L.L.C. and Bollinger Shipyards!!
We will have fun for the whole family at the Assumption Parish Ag Complex in Napoleonville on April 24 & 25, including Mutton Busting for the little ones before the performances each night.

We need you to pack the stands, cheer for the contestants and support your local FFA chapter as we develop the future leaders in agriculture!

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students, and kids five and under are free at the gate.
The Mutton Busting (8 years old and under--60lb max) entry fee will be $25. Entries will be taken from 5:30-6:30pm before each performance.

We are excited to bring back our Special Needs Rodeo on Saturday, April 25 from 10 am-noon. This event is FREE for all our special needs cowboys, cowgirls and their families. We will be releasing more information as we get closer to RODEO TIME!!

On behalf of the Assumption FFA Chapter, we would love to invite you to attend the 78th Assumption FFA Banquet to honor and celebrate each of the achievements earned by students in our FFA Chapter!

The Banquet will be held on Thursday, April 16th at 6:15 PM at the Assumption Community Center. Any member interested in attending the banquet can purchase $15 meal tickets from an FFA advisor for yourself and your guests. FFA members eat for free if they meet the qualifications listed on their banquet invitation. Meal tickets must be purchased by Thursday, April 2nd to ensure an accurate meal count.

Our welding team, 2 poultry teams, and Meat ID team traveled to Baton Rouge today to compete at the state contest. While we didn't get any top 4 banners today we had awesome learning opportunities and gained some experience to be back and better next year! Proud of all our students and the hard work they put in to qualify for the state contest!

Congratulations to our AHS FFA Welding teams! They competed along with 25 other teams at the Area 4 CDE today at ABC welding school in Baton Rouge.
Blue Team: Kegan Templet and Colsten Gros placed 3rd in the contest qualifying them for state in 2 weeks
Gold Team: Ian Theriot and Penelope Kern placed 5th in the contest!

Individually these students did great!
Ian ranked 3rd overall
Kegan ranked 4th overall
Colsten ranked 13th overall
Penelope ranked 18th overall

Congratulations to all! And Thank you to our welding instructor Mr Gus Cavalier for putting in the extra time with our members!
