A Texas vice principal has gone viral after security footage showed him praying over every student, teacher, and classroom before the school year began.

Shared widely on TikTok and YouTube, the video has drawn praise for compassionate leadership but sparked debate over prayer in public schools.

Texas Senate Bill 11 (2025) permits voluntary prayer with consent, yet critics cite concerns about coercion and church-state separation.

Thoughts?

Have your students help settle the debate. Who really is the GOAT? 🤔 This product includes two 7th grade reading fluency passages, one about LeBron James, and one about Michael Jordan. It includes 2 pages of comprehension questions pertaining to each passage, a writing activity to summarize each selection, a Venn diagram to compare the 2, and a template to write a persuasive essay about who really is the GOAT. ⛹🏾

I loved my third grade teacher. She was warm and caring and fun. Up until that point, I had always been anxious about school. But in her class, I felt comfortable. This was the year I decided I wanted to be a teacher. 🍎

One day in third grade, we read a story about a girl who planted wildflowers and afterwards, we had to write about a way that we could make the world a more beautiful place. I wrote that I would collect seashells from the beach and sprinkle them along the highways for travelers to enjoy. My teacher read my paragraph, bent down next to my desk and said, “Courtney, this is beautiful. You are so creative.” That compliment and encouragement stuck with me. It meant a lot for someone special to me to see something special in me. ✍🏼

Recently, I was with my family on a “shelling” beach (my happy place) in Florida and this memory came to mind and made me smile. In that very moment, I felt God speak to my heart and remind me that He made me to be creative. 💜

I thought about the resources I create and share on TpT as seashells I sprinkle along the paths of teachers and students who use them in their classrooms. 😉

So if you are creative, or athletic, or hospitable, or musical. If you are a writer, or an artist, a nurturer, or a leader. Do the thing that God made you to do. That’s how we make this world a little more beautiful while we’re passing through. 🐚

I am so excited to share this resource! Inspired by some special kiddos in my life, it is near and dear to my heart. It features 8 “Coping Critters” who help kids learn and practice coping strategies to use when their feelings are too big and just overwhelming. And who doesn’t need that? For each of the 8 skills, it includes reading passages, cloze activities, writing prompts, classroom posters, keyring visuals, student passes and more! The custom, adorable graphics in this product really make the material come alive. I hope this resource really helps and blesses both you and your students! ❤️💜🧡🐾

This is a picture of me and my husband from *2010* when we were teaching. He had come in during his planning period to read to a third grade class for a project called “Real Men Read.” Indeed they do. 😏 We were both public school teachers for many years, then ventured into youth ministry together, and more recently became foster parents, together. We are not one of those couples that have a ton in common (he’s sporty and I’m artsy 😉) but we really love each other, we love Jesus the most, and we have a passion for investing in the lives of kids. 💙

There is a song by Tasha Cobbs Leonard called, “Break Every Chain,” that I love and a line that comes later in the song that says, “There’s an Army Rising Up.” Every time I sing those lyrics I think of the army of believers of the next generation rising up. I think about the incredible kids that I get the privilege to raise, their friends and classmates that I love, and all the students in our Children’s Church and Youth Group, and I’m filled with hope for the future! 🙌🏼

This 👇🏼 is how I’ve done Christmas gift tags for the last 3 years. I created a Word document, typed my 4 kids’ names in one of my favorite fonts, printed a bunch of them on card stock, and cut them into gift tags using my paper cutter. I use 2 sided tape to attach them. Super simple, and I really like the way it looks. This year I made another document with all my family members names and made their gift tags the same way! I used a different, scripted font for the grownups 😉

The kid font is Ckchunkybliss and the grownup font is Ckkindness. Both fonts are available for free in my TpT store when used for classroom and personal use (like Christmas gift tags) 🏷

PS I hesitated for a minute buying that glitter ribbon but once I wrapped it around the first gift, I decided was totally worth the mess 🤩

Merry Christmas friends ❤️💚

I posted some Christmas themed acrostic poem templates and bulletin board signs today! No prep needed and they are *free* 🤗 There are 3 templates, Peace, Joy, & Love, and 2 versions of each (whole sheet & half sheet). Fun for the last week of school and also a good way for kids to reflect on the season. I had my kids make all of these. 😉

I made the holly garland with shades of green card stock and painted styrofoam balls 🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿
