Work-related stress is on the rise. The opportunity to attract and retain quality workers is here. Valuing employee well-being in the workplace is a step in the right direction.
It is a matter of prioritizing and valuing wellness that goes beyond simply offering mental health resources. It begins with leaders living and breathing these values and showcasing their emotional and cultural intelligence within their relationships, actions, and decisions.
At the same time, employees who can prioritize their own wellness may have more energy and focus to climb that corporate ladder to better pay and greater flexibility.
Work cultures that promote and prioritize these qualities create a win-win effect for all.
Facing compounding stressors, many American workers plan to change jobs in coming year Low salaries, long hours and lack of opportunity for growth are most likely to contribute to work-related stress, says APA survey.

It was such an honor – and a pleasure – to present to the IWI (International Women Indiana) organization on Monday! I appreciate the opportunity to engage with such a dynamic group of people. I particularly enjoyed the question and answer segment as it spoke to the importance and need for community initiatives that support and strengthen our mental wellbeing.

Some may not see a relationship as an achievement, per se. However, a solid relationship requires each person to continuously work on having and keeping that strong connection alive, while further developing yourself in the process.
Having been happily married for over 33 years, it is one of the achievements I am most proud of sharing with my husband! We have had our challenges- Yet, our love and appreciation for one another helped us get back on our feet.
It is this love, attraction, and strength mixed with faith, trust, and loyalty that continue to grow our relationship with each other.
I am most grateful for my husband/best friend who brings me joy in the everyday occurrences of life. He laughs at my not so funny jokes, hugs me when I need it most, and brightens my day with his sunny disposition.
Happy Valentine's Day, Robert Kennedy-Edwards! 33 years and counting. XO

Are you stressed right now? Check your shoulders – are they tight? How is your breathing – is it short and shallow? Stomach feeling tight?
Many of us don’t take the time to check in and see how we are feeling. Some think that if they stay busy enough, they can bypass any uncomfortable feelings. The problem with this is that...

This month can be especially trying with holidays and year-end deliverables added to family & work responsibilities. Taking a minute to step back and see the bigger picture gives us a mental shift in perspectives and can instantly decrease the stress and pressure we are feeling.

Exciting News!
I’m thrilled to announce my position with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) as dissertation chair/adjunct faculty in conjunction with my consulting practice!
I firmly believe in always evolving ourselves as we strive to help others grow. There is no better place to do this (besides coaching) than within a university. It is here where we help shape and clarify ideas and beliefs while delving into research that helps us grow our knowledge base, intellect, and mindset. Staying on top of the latest findings helps keep minds fresh and open to new perspectives and to new ways of doing things.
The course I am facilitating is focused on diversity as it relates to people, organizations, and the world. Bringing these concepts together offers lively discussion and enlightened foresight into ways we can spur positive change within organizations and within ourselves.
Thank you, TCSPP, for such an exciting opportunity!

"In order to rise above the noise, it takes each of us to look in the mirror and honestly see where we are biased in our judgments, as we all have them. It takes this assessment of humility to acknowledge that I am not better than you and you are not better than me."
