I had the immense privilege of facilitating a college application workshop at Fermilab in Illinois for students participating in the Target and Valor summer programs. It was a rewarding experience to share key insights on how to navigate the application process and make it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. The students were highly engaged and asked thoughtful questions, showcasing their dedication and curiosity. I wish them every success with their college applications and future endeavors.

On this solemn day, we remember the countless lives lost to ensure our freedoms during the D-Day invasion. We must not forget the brave West Indian men and women who were a vital part of the war effort and the D-Day invasion. Our extended family is blessed to have one of these courageous veterans among us. We honor their sacrifice and bravery on this 80th anniversary of D-Day. 🌺

Black History Month - Honoring a Remarkable Women
Gwendolyn Brooks is one of the most influential and widely read 20th-century American poets. The author of more than 20 books, she was highly regarded even during her lifetime and had the distinction of being the first Black poet to win the Pulitzer Prize. She was also the first Black woman to hold the role of Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress, a position now referred to as the Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry, and served as the Illinois poet laureate for 32 years.

We had the pleasure yesterday to attend for annual the fourth annual “Off to College Trunk Party”. The Jesse white foundation distributed 500 trunks to high school graduates who will be attending college this fall. The trunks included bed linens, towels, school supplies, toiletries and more. It was an excellent event, which would not have been possible without The Jesse white foundation hundreds of volunteers and sponsors. Thank you for supporting our college-bound students.
