All Saints was honored to welcome Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino of Assisi and relics of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare of Assisi, and Saint Carlo Acutis (also from Assisi) to the school. Archbishop Sorrentino is a true shepherd of the relics and stories of the lives of these Saints who inspire us with their examples of holiness.
Our 5th - 8th grade students especially enjoyed learning more about Saint Carlo Acutis who was canonized as the first millennial saint almost one year ago. While they could relate to Saint Carlo and his love of soccer, music (he played the saxophone), and video games, it was Carlo's love for Jesus and the Eucharist that brought him true joy. Each one of us can experience joy in Jesus, and be called to be a saint.
We are grateful to Father John Regan from St. Thomas the Apostle in Naperville for bringing this opportunity to the students of All Saints Catholic Academy, and especially the folks from St. Carlo Acutis Parish in Chicago who shared their knowledge of and love for this great contemporary Saint. You are all true blessings π©·
