Stories like this are a reminder of why educational advocacy matters.
Every child deserves someone in their corner who believes in them, understands their needs, and helps them access the support they need to succeed. When students receive the right accommodations, services, and encouragement, the impact can extend far beyond the classroom.
We are honored to have supported so many students and families throughout their educational journeys and are grateful for the trust they place in us along the way. ❤️

Supporting your child's IEP goals over the summer can be simpler than you think.
Many of the skills outlined in an IEP can be practiced naturally through everyday experiences. Reading a recipe, planning a family outing, playing a board game, visiting the library, or helping with grocery shopping can all provide opportunities to reinforce learning in meaningful ways.
The goal isn't to recreate the classroom at home. Consistent, low-pressure practice can help students maintain skills, build confidence, and make the transition back to school a little smoother in the fall.
Remember, progress doesn't always happen at a desk. Sometimes the most valuable learning happens during everyday moments. ☀️📚

It may be summer break, but our team is still hard at work supporting families, students, and educators.
Just ask Kelly Houston, who wrapped up the week in Indiana delivering another Structured Literacy Workshop. While classrooms may be on pause for the season, our commitment to empowering educators and strengthening literacy outcomes continues year-round.
Thank you, Kelly, for helping make a difference one workshop at a time!

Dyslexia often has one genetic link, which means it can show up in more than one generation.
If you or your child is struggling with reading writing or spelling, it's worth exploring further - especially if there's a family history of learning differences.

Summer doesn't have to look like school to support learning!
Here are a few simple ways to keep your child engaged academically this summer:
📚 Visit the library and join a reading challenge
📝 Encourage journaling, letter writing, or storytelling
🍳 Practice math skills while cooking or baking together
🏛️ Explore museums, zoos, and historical sites
🎲 Play educational board games and puzzles
🌱 Turn everyday activities into opportunities for curiosity and learning
For children with learning differences, even a little consistency throughout the summer can help maintain skills and ease the transition back to school in the fall.
The goal isn't to recreate the classroom; it's to keep learning fun, meaningful, and connected to your child's interests. ☀️

Some summer days are full of fun, memories, and adventure. Other days feel overwhelming, overstimulating, or just plain exhausting...for kids and parents alike.
For many neurodivergent children, the changes that come with summer can make even fun activities feel like a lot sometimes. That’s why rest days, quiet moments, and slower schedules matter too.
And honestly? Some days just making it to bedtime is enough.
There's no "perfect" way to do summer.

Incoming college freshmen! If you haven’t already, please make an appointment with the Office of Disability Services at your chosen college or university.
If you are entitled to accommodations due to a medical or learning difference, now is the right time to get everything in place.
Be sure to check your school’s website for any required documentation so there are no surprises.
Remember, the college process is different from high school. In college, students are responsible for ensuring their accommodations are in place, communicating with professors, and advocating for the support they need.
The Disability Services office is there to support and assist you, so take time to get to know the staff and reach out with questions.
Every student deserves equal access to their education and the accommodations they need to succeed.

One simple way to add a sense of stability this summer, is by creating “anchors” in the week.
These are small, repeatable routines that stay the same no matter what else is going on. It might be a Tuesday trip to the same playground, Friday pizza and a movie night, or a Saturday morning coffee run where the expectations never change. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or rigid. The consistency is what matters.
These anchors help kids know, “this is something I can count on,” which can make the rest of the week feel more flexible and manageable. They also give kids predictable moments to look forward to, which can reduce anxiety around transitions or unstructured time.
You don’t need a full summer schedule for this to work. Even one or two steady touchpoints can make a real difference.
