Have you ever felt frustrated working with others? 😀😑

I serve in a local non-profit. I lead one of the project teams of volunteers. I cannot get the support needed to conduct our monthly call campaign. It is so frustrating. I am obsessing about it. These Stories keep running through my mind: "Why won't others step up & help?" "It is a worthy cause." "What is wrong with them?"

You know the feeling. You are leading a project team at work and you are the only one working. Or you have things to do around the house, but no one will help you.

You keep running Stories in your mind about what you would like to say or do.
"I will give them a piece of my mind!"
"I will just quit!"
"They cannot do this to me!"

You are in a terrible mood. Everything bothers you. You want to be left alone.

But that is not possible. Life must go on. You need to make dinner. You need to pick up the kids from school. You need to go grocery shopping.

Can I tell you a Secret?

You are trying to CONTROL everything & everyone.

Yes, the root of your frustration is not the "others" but you. A need for everything to "go your way" - Control.

I realized this "Gem of Wisdom" before I sent the message. I paused. I stepped into the Space and realized this was all about me.

πŸ’‘TAKEAWAY: When you feel frustrated about a situation, pause & step into the Space. Let go of the need to be right or have it your way (Control).

Do you feel overwhelmed?

Take a moment to Breath.
Breathing regulates the body.
Breathing settles the Body.
Breathing calms the Mind.
Breathing Centers You.

One of my "go to" Breathing Techniques is Box Breathing. I follow this simple pattern:
Breathe in for a count of 5.
Hold for a count of 5.
Breathe out slowly for a count of 5.
Hold for a count of 5.

I repeat this pattern 2 - 3 times or until the Mind is calm.
