Congratulations, Class of 2026! We are so proud of all your hard work, and we praise God for all the ways you have poured into the NCA community. We cannot wait to see how the Lord uses each of you to further His Kingdom in your next chapter!
Join us in praying the words of Psalm 121 over our wonderful seniors!
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

One of the best parts of NCA is the rich community among students and families. Over the past few weeks, Upper School students supported Logan at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, and Grammar School students and teachers cheered on Nathan in a recent production of Newsies! We are so grateful to watch our students develop true friendships with each other!

Five 8th grade NCA students recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in a Young America’s Foundation conference. The focus of the conference was on the sacrifices needed for freedom, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the top-notch speakers and monument tour. Each student was grateful to attend such a rich event alongside their peers as well as students from around the country. One of the most beloved traditions at NCA is our Grammar School Living Wax Museum! Beginning in first grade, each student chooses an important figure in history from the time period that they study in class. After weeks of studying and researching, the students present all that they have learned to friends, family, and other NCA students. We are so proud of all their hard work!

Some of our Upper School students recently got to visit Cantigny Park to see their D-Day exhibit. The students enjoyed a beautiful day outside, perfect for running the D-Day exhibit. Students also did a great job making connections between class this year and the exhibits they saw. With Mr. Vahle, they reflected on a Churchill speech, an Eisenhower speech, and an FDR prayer from the 1940s as we reflected on the tense days of the invasion.
The D-Day exhibit was a true highlight. Students got a feel for the distance of the 300 yard assault up Omaha beach and up the steef cliff faces up Pointe du Hoc. Some students even tried to imagine the 80 pound packs soldiers would have carried (and some even took the call to “carry each other’s burdens” literally). The 7th grade boys made multiple trips up that hill that tired the rest of us out!
Field trips like this make the past come alive, and we are thankful for the ways our students have engaged in contemplation of the past and its relevance to the present.

Last week, NCA’s Grammar School got two new principals (just of the day, of course!). John and Christina won a raffle at the World’s Fare, and they got to help Mrs. MacIntyre all day!

Our kindergarten class' chicken eggs have hatched! They loved welcoming the preschool class to see their new chicks!

We are grateful to hear stories of how the Lord has been working through our juniors and seniors this week during their mission trip to Romania. They have partnered with Grace Christian School, helping to lead chapels and working with their students. Our students even planned a field day for them! Please keep this team in your prayers as they prepare to travel home!

In preparation for Easter, our students participated in a Triclinium Meal to experience and appreciate a first century church/Roman-style meal. We wanted to help our students and community enter into a mindset of holiness to ponder our Lord's death and resurrection. Read on to learn more about the heart behind this NCA tradition.
On Jesus’ last night, He goes to the “Upper Room” with His disciples to celebrate Passover with a meal. This festival is also called the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and it commemorates the Israelite’s freedom from slavery in Egypt. Jesus first opens with a prayer of blessing and breaks bread with His disciples; then, during the meal, He gets up, takes off His outer clothing and wraps a towel around His waist to wash His disciples’ feet (John 13). Judas is recognized as the betrayer before the meal is over, and then Jesus institutes a new element – the New Covenant remembrance of His death and resurrection (i.e. the Lord’s Supper, or Communion). Then He gives His prayer of thanksgiving (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
