I recently attended the Napa Schools for Climate Action student recognition event. Our Board has passed a resolution of support, and I was proud to join this organization in recognizing the work of these students. It's inspiring to see our school community involved in climate leadership.

I had a wonderful time last week at the Leadership Napa Valley Class 38 Practicing Showcase at Napa Valley College, and it was fantastic catching up with my fellow LNV Class 33 alumni, including LNV Program Director Mary Rezek.
I’m proud to partner with my fellow Napa County superintendents to launch our new school attendance campaign: "Start Strong. Show Up. Shine."
We believe that every student has the potential to excel, but success starts with being in the classroom. School attendance is a shared community effort, and we are calling on families, employers, and educators to work together to ensure students are present and ready to learn. Missing just ten percent of the school year—which breaks down to only two days each month—can make it significantly harder for students to keep up with lessons and stay on track for graduation.

I had the opportunity to join other elected officials and education leaders in support of the Napa Valley Education Foundation at their annual Taste for Knowledge fundraiser. A great example of school and community partnership.
